We look to our practice as a contemporary reinvention of the “Renaissance Man,” we learn a lot from that quintessential Renaissance Man, Leonardo da Vinci. In typical Renaissance fashion, da Vinci turned his hand to every possible field because he believed that everything he could learn, from how cats sleep to the shape of waves, would make his art better and truer to life. Da Vinci’s notebooks are full of drawn studies from science and nature, detailed line drawings of muscles and sinews, as captured from anatomy lessons, birds’ wings, and botanical diagrams of plants and leaves. The same is true of marketing, which similarly benefits from a cross-disciplinary approach.
